Travel Tips
Passport & Entry
A valid passport is required for entry into Mexico. While the Mexican government only requires that your passport be valid for the length of your stay, some airlines prefer at least six months of validity before your travel dates. It’s worth double-checking your passport expiration date and confirming any requirements with your airline before departure.
Power & Plugs
Mexico uses the same outlets as the U.S. and Canada. If you’re visiting from elsewhere, you may need a voltage converter and/or plug adapter. Most outlets accept two flat-prong plugs, so if your devices use a different style, pack an adapter to stay powered up.
Currency
The local currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). Most restaurants and shops accept credit cards or pesos, but smaller businesses and local markets may prefer cash, so we recommend carrying some pesos with you.
